Week #48 - Me at 35

Hello there, Nicole here again.  Im back today to share another layout with you.  I recently came across an older layout I did many years ago, about myself and my top 10 things at whatever age it was for then.  It got me thinking when I sat down to figure out a layout.  Why not do another one, then I will have it documented to see what has and has not changed. I love comparing similar layouts like that to see the differences.  

I had some simple stories papers on hand and I loved the colors they were filled with.  The line was all about summer, but I thought I could definitely still work it to document me, just like I wanted.

I started with my picture which I printed in 4x6. Now let me tell you I NEVER take pictures of myself, I like to be the photographer behind the camera.  But recently my husband took me on a surprise trip for my birthday and I am glad I took a few pictures of myself, and of him and I together so that I will always have those memories not only in my mind, but in photographs too. I am trying to get better about including myself every now and then in the pictures.  

So I took a sheet that was just like an ombre look with all the bright colors and I just cut my title right straight across it.  I wanted the title to have that ombre look just like the paper did.  

I cut out one of the cards that was on a sheet, because it had an adorable little camera on it.  

I cut out the word smile in vellum using my silhouette cameo.  

I attached it with some awesome vellum adhesive from Tombow.  You can't see it at all.  Thanks Jennifer! :)  

Next I took another patterned paper that looked like there were all these little stamps on it, and I cut a few of my favorites out.  I added words to them to have them all have cute little sayings on them.  

Next I took a sheet of patterned paper that looked like ledger paper and adhered it under the camera card and wrote all my journaling on it.  I did it in a bullet style journaling so that I could fit  a lot on there this way.  I tend to ramble, and I thought this would help keep me on track.  

There was a big subway art looking patterned paper that had a bunch of summer words all over it , but I saw the little life is beautiful quote on there and knew I wanted to use it.  So I cut just that part out and attatched it under the hello.  The hello word was part of the patterned paper, I just used it as part of my design. 

I attached all my little hand cut stamps down the center of the page.

The last thing I did was take a white gel pen I had on hand and draw some lines on the hello to give it a little more highlights.

I love the colors of my new layout, very bright and colorful.

Week #47 Multi Photo Fall Layout - Nancy

Hi everyone.  Nancy here today to share with you a quick layout that you can use with multiple photos.

Supplies Used:

• Simple Stories - Homespun Patterned Papers, Chipboard, Stickers
• Prima - Lace

Step 1:  Cut an 8 inch square from inside the yellow ginham paper for future use.  This is a great way to save a patterned paper for a coordinating page.

Step 2:  Mount photos on a neutral piece of paper, leaving a bit of a border on the bottom for embellishments.  I chose to have three photos (one of each of my children) and a title piece.  But you could use more or less photos, filling in the squares with whatever your needs are.

 Step 3.  Cut floral paper to 10 inches and mount in the center of the yellow gingham paper.

 Step 4.  Center matted photos on floral paper.  Add border sticker just below photos.

If you like, you could stop here.  I chose to embellish the layout just a bit further by adding a bit of lace right under the border sticker, a floral sticker in the upper left corner, and a few chipboard pieces in the lower right.

You can see that piece of yellow gingham paper behind my photo, and the floral paper as well.  More of the stickers and chipboards from the collection as well as bits of lace tie the two layouts together.

POCKET STYLE...

I must admit I'm addicted to pocket Scrapbooking and so many paper companies are now doing 12" x 12" papers ready to cut up into 3" x 4" and 4" x 6" cards.
And this one was no exception.

Firstly, it's about choosing your pocket style then laying out your 'cards', don't worry if your sheet only comes with 3" x 4" cards and you have 4" x 6" pockets, all you have to do is pop a bit of washi tape on the back to join the two cards, it doesn't matter as when you do the other side of the page you won't even see the washi

Lay out your cards in the style of the page protector. I wanted a bit of 'flickage' on mine so I used the Smooch Pearlised Accent Ink and added a bit to some water in a spray bottle.

Then "flicked" till I was happy with the look.

Next, I took a stencil and some embossing paste to give it a bit of depth and dimension.

I wanted to add a little handmade embellie, so I punched a circle and covered it in double sided tape

and starting in the centre, I wound Baker's Twine around to create a spiral.

Then I put on just a few banners, a tag and a snowflake and a little bit of journalling....I am British after all. We don't do loads of journalling !!!

Week #45: A Birthday Gift

Hello everyone!  Sarah here with another layout and tutorial for you.  Who doesn't love birthday pages?  I recently scrapped my younger daughter's 3rd birthday from this past summer.  I didn't have any birthday embellishments, so I made my own using my scrap paper!  Quick, easy and handmade!  Check it out in the video.
