PANTONE PAINT CHIPS AS A SCRAPBOOK PAGE - WEEK ONE

A couple of years ago I got these awesome Pantone Paint Chips from the local Lowe's, from their Pantone Universe Collection. The color of the year was a green color called "Emerald":

Last year's was "Radiant Orchid" and this year we have "Marsala", a deep wine color. I grabbed the Emerald chips and some other complimentary ones and knew they would be perfect for scrapbooking. 



Not only would they be on trend but they didn't look as much like paint chips as panels or maybe even Project Life blocks! They were made for a colorblock style scrapbook page:

The lively colors and graphic feel of the cards are perfect for a sports page, like this one. Here's how to make it:

Look outside of the craft store for supplies like these paint chips that you can use to give your pages and unique look.

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #17

Today it is all about BACON! This layout is all about using your stash - even if things dont macth erpofectly, like pink + red, you can still get them to pull together on a layout by keeping the colors similar throughout. I used lots of old stash from variou manufacturers on this one--all I did was look for pink/red, yellow, and blue elements with a tiny bit of green:

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #12

Tonight I decided to do a Google Hangouts On Air to capture the making of this layout. It was fun! I will do them again so follow me on social media (see all those buttons at the bottom of this post) to catch when Iannounce them. They are kind of on the fly ... luckily they always get recorded so you can watch later if you can't watch and chat LIVE :)

This page is all about using up your stash. A few diecuts, some scraps of paper, OLD paper getting used up, digging through embellies I don't want to put away, and experimenting, with Smooch Accent Ink in this case. I hope you enjoy it! 

Like I said in the video, I don't particularly love single photo layouts because they are not practical to those of us scrapping for not just the love of creating but also to save our memories. Even though this page has one mat, I can include more photos using a strip of smaller images or use the mat to hold 2 smaller pics. Consider ways to adapt single photo designs to include more photos.

I really pulled out some oldie but goodie paper for this -- Crate Paper circa 2011 I believe! You can always use your scraps--keep them in bags according to color or theme and pull them out when you have photos to match. This page is pretty ecelectic bnut since I used elements from the same Collection, it all works together without too much effort on my part.

Yay! Day 4 of the Daily Scrapbook Page is here. This is a simple one to do with scraps -- all you need is a little bit of paper and some leftovers from another project! It wouldn't be July if we didn't throw a little Christmas in the mix, right? I still have not scrapped last Christmas--yikes, I know?! Well, if you are like me, then this is a great and easy layout to make, especially when Christmas themed paper might be scarce in your local scrapbook store at this time of year.
