Do your own embellishments - Week #45

Hi Ladies.. Thanksgiving is almost here and I would like to share my Thankful & Blessed Layout for this week and show you how easy is to make our own embellishments!!!
Sometimes we have a lot a papers and we realize they are so busy to use in our projects and maybe they are waiting in our stash for months and sometimes years for the perfect project....So I decided to use my old papers.. and this piece of paper is perfect for my Layout!!!

This piece of paper is so busy to use alone but I fussy cut the leaves using my marvelous Westcott scissors and they will be perfect to embellish my layout.

Did you heard about Scrap Free Scrapbooking?? Well Jennifer Priest come up with a great idea to Scrapbook Free! don't you like the idea to Scrapbook with the papers and embellishments we have and don't spend money? well she has a lot of tips and templates that she develop to scrapbook without scraps!! YES>>> No Scraps!!! yey!!!!

Using my brand NEW Trim Air - Westcott Rotary Paper Trimmer and using Scrap Free Scrapbook ideas I start cutting my paper!

Once I cut all my pieces I use my Xyron Mega Runner.. another gadget I love!

I use two pictures I don't really like to journal.. I'm more into titles and photos some times I love clean and simple and today is one of those days!

Another embellish I did was the title.. I use my electronic cutter .. you can use also dies.. the thing is we need to use what we have!!!!

This Layout is so simple but I like the results..

To finish .. I add some tags I had also from my stash and voila!! One Layout with out using anything new!! I'm so thankful and blessed to have a lot in my stash and I'm decided to use it using all the Tips from the book "Scrap Free Scrapbooking" isn't a good idea?

WEEK 29 - OH CANADA!

Hello everyone and welcome to my July DT layout!!  Today I have a patriotic layout for you in keeping with our theme this month.  But, I am from Canada so it's all about the maple leaf and the red and white here.  July 1st is Canada Day and it also happens to be my youngest son's birthday.  So I knew I had the perfect photo to scrap in keeping with this theme.  His first birthday!

Yes, this photo is from 2005 and I have never scrapped in our family album before.  I did up a first year book but our family albums from 2003-2007 are pretty sparse.  As I was very busy with 2 boys under the age of 5 at the time.  So I am thrilled to get this scrapped.

I used my Silhouette to cut out this giant maple leaf and then kept the layout predominantly red and white with some touches of navy and gold.  I hope you enjoy.  See my process video below.

Supply List:
Cardstock: American Crafts.
Patterned paper: Webster's Pages and Carta Bella.

Embellishments: Layered stickers - Carta Bella, Wood veneer - Shimelle for American Crafts, sequin stars, puffy hearts - American Crafts and Crate Paper; glassine envelope - unknown.

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #12

Tonight I decided to do a Google Hangouts On Air to capture the making of this layout. It was fun! I will do them again so follow me on social media (see all those buttons at the bottom of this post) to catch when Iannounce them. They are kind of on the fly ... luckily they always get recorded so you can watch later if you can't watch and chat LIVE :)

This page is all about using up your stash. A few diecuts, some scraps of paper, OLD paper getting used up, digging through embellies I don't want to put away, and experimenting, with Smooch Accent Ink in this case. I hope you enjoy it!

Like I said in the video, I don't particularly love single photo layouts because they are not practical to those of us scrapping for not just the love of creating but also to save our memories. Even though this page has one mat, I can include more photos using a strip of smaller images or use the mat to hold 2 smaller pics. Consider ways to adapt single photo designs to include more photos.

Here's how I made this layout ("today" and pointer diecuts added after video stopped):

Supplies:

  • Smooch Spritz in Gold Glow - Clearsnap
  • Smoch Accent Ink in Silver, Spruce, Lime Twist - Clearsnap
  • Diecuts - Silhouette America
  • Punches - Fiskars, Marvy
  • Buttons - hydrangeahippo.etsy.com
  • Paper by Jillibean Soup, Pink Paislee, American Crafts
  • Cardstock - Bazzill

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #10

We all do it. We have those tools we buy and maybe we love them for a month or two, or maybe they are still in the package, but the bottom line is that we are not using them to their full potential, as often as we ought to, and not getting our money's worth out of them.

One of the tools I stopped using regularly was my Silhouette Cameo Machine. I moved a coffee table form my guest room into my family room, set up the ameo on it and set up my laptop on a TV tray. And while I was watching TV, I made some files and then started cutting them on the Silhouette. I started with some paper I wasn't too in love with, just to get the feel of it back.

Today's page uses those elements I cut from the Silhouette Cameo. It feels really good to get out a tool and USE it! What tool or product did you buy that you wish you used more?

Today's layout is about me teaching Katie to sew. I still need to add pics but you can check out the video here:

Paper - Jillibean Soup, American Crafts, Bazzill, Unknown (Shiny Pink)
