Buttered Toast Scrapbook Page Week #32

Hi Rose here! Today, I am going to share with you two things, a little secret about me and a very, quick, easy, and fun, multi-photo scrapbook layout. I'm in love with Snapchat. The filters bring me so much laughter that I check in every single morning to start my day. If you're not familiar with Snapchat, it's an app on your phone. It has a series of filters that can alter your appearance, voice and even interact when you raise your eyebrows or open your mouth. It has a lot of other cool features going on, but for the sake of this post, you get the gist. 

My daughter had discovered the newest Snapchat filter (unbeknownst to her, I had already discovered it). Bread! She says to me "mom, they have bread", I responded with "I know", she says, "I wish it would put butter on me when I open my mouth" as she swiftly sent me a snap. When I received it, I laughed so hard. I had to screenshot it for future laughs and entertainment. This post contains affiliate links.

Start with a piece of white cardstock. I want the focus to remain on the images and speak the title loudly, so I kept the background very simple. 

Blend white gesso and Clearsnap Smooch Spritz in sun kissed to create creamy buttery yellow. Then add in gel paste to give it a bit of depth for the effect of slathered butter.

Using a palette knife spread on as you would butter on toast. Use a heat tool to dry or set it aside to dry over night.

Print images and fussy cut the "pieces of bread". With my HP Printer, I used HP Snapshots to print my snapchat images. I love the HP Snapshots because they're already adhesive. Much like stickers, just peel the plastic backing and adhere to your projects.

Next, adhere your images. Embellish with eggs and bacon embellishment stickers (so simple and so easy) and add title using letter stickers.

Lastly, add journaling, This Buttered Toast Scrapbook Page would not have been complete without the inclusion of the memory.

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #18

I actually scrapped a page of my friends?! Haha I am never in pics so one of the things I have been trying to do is make pages about me :)

Since last night's page was all about no ink or distressing, I decided to pull a 180 and do LOTS of paint and ink and stamping on this puppy. I hope you enjoy it!

The Daily Scrapbook Page - Layout #10

We all do it. We have those tools we buy and maybe we love them for a month or two, or maybe they are still in the package, but the bottom line is that we are not using them to their full potential, as often as we ought to, and not getting our money's worth out of them. 

One of the tools I stopped using regularly was my Silhouette Cameo Machine. I moved a coffee table form my guest room into my family room, set up the ameo on it and set up my laptop on a TV tray. And while I was watching TV, I made some files and then started cutting them on the Silhouette. I started with some paper I wasn't too in love with, just to get the feel of it back. 

Today's page uses those elements I cut from the Silhouette Cameo. It feels really good to get out a tool and USE it! What tool or product did you buy that you wish you used more?

Layout 8: Rejoice With Your Family

After a long hiatus I am back with a new layout! I have been creating layouts, cards, and projects the entire time I have been away from this blog but for one reason or another, I have not been able to share them. Alot of the time, it had to do with me not having time to take step out photos of the pages as they were created. If you have ever had to do that, then you know what I am talking about!


I am really glad to be back and this week I have a layout to share with you that also symbolizes two new things that have happened since I was on hiatus from this blog -- I am the DT Coordinator for Clearsnap AND I am an Educator and Design Team Specialist for Authentique Paper. 


Using products from both companies, I created this layout for the current Color Challenge on the Clearsnap Blog - you should totally go enter something!!! The odds to win are amazing since usually only 3 people are participating and I would LOVE to see what some of you do with this month's inspiration.

Put the ink cartridge into the Rollagraph Handle and then put the Wheel in. If you don't have a cartridge, then just roll the Wheel in ink a few times until coated. Following the edge of the paper, roll the stamp. Repeat to cover half of the 7x12" Authentique Paper.

Using a Stylus and Tips set from Clearsnap, press the tip into ColorBox/Graphic 45 Decades Antiquing Ink. 

This is new ink and I looooooove it!! Sold all of my Ranger Distress Inks so what does that tell ya. Apply until the page is inked as much as you like.

Add a punched border to the backside of this paper strip so the border peeks out. Then add that to the layout. 

I love the distressed nature of the paper (see the paint-like marks on the blue?) so to really pull it all together, I added a little Smooch spritz in Splash. I pressed the nozzle down halfway and then pressed slowly to get large drips and droplets of ink on the page. I wanted more of a splatter effect than a mist.Pressing the nozzle at a normal speed would have resulted in a mist effect.

I added three paper doilies to the page to create a visual triangle, trimming one that hung off the upper right of the page.

Then I began layering the diecut embellishments from Authentique Paper along with some Prima flowers I have had forever....

To add a little extra sparkle to the diecuts, especially since the Smooch Spritzed background was sparkly, I used Smooch Accent Ink on portions of the diecuts. 

The result is a deeper, sparkly image:

Next I stamped some elements onto the layout using dye ink and assorted stamps. I stamped "messy" because I wanted the ink to look imperfect on the somewhat distressed and inky layout.

Finally I adhered everything in place and added ribbons and bows to complete the look.
