WEEK 20 - OUR STORY: ME AND MY MOM

Hello again everyone and thanks for joining me for my reveal of my Layout-A-Week layout for May.  This month we were asked to look at the theme of Mom's as it is Mother's Day this month.  I decided to go WAY back to how I made MY mom a mom.

For this layout I decided to step out of my comfort zone of colours and use more vintage-y themed products and also use some more feminine touches of ribbon and flowers.  I am really quite pleased with how it turned out and think it really compliments the photo well.

SUPPLY LIST:
Vellum
Patterned paper: Pink Paislee
Alphas: Thickers, Pink Paislee
Mist: Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold, Bronzer, Seafoam, Mint Green, Tea
Other: Ribbon, Flowers, Enamel dots, Ranger: Gesso

GOING GREEN....

Green is a colour I love working with, especially if it's TEAL green LOL !!!! but this time I've really pushed myself and used sage green.
Start by painting and when I say painting I mean pop a bit of paint on a baby wipe and rub onto the cardstock.
Next spritz a bit of a water based spray onto your resist mat and using the lid, make some circles on the cardstock.

With the ink still wet, sprinkle on some Embossing powder, shake off and heat set

Next, using a piece of watercolour card, spritz with a lighter ink, then lay a stencil over and spritz with a darker ink. Dry with a heat tool.

Whilst I had the embossing powder out, I inked up a few flowers and a polaroid frame and embossed those.

Added a few splatters with the ink before sticking it all down.
Thanks for looking

WEEK 3 - FOR THE LOVE OF HEXAGONS

What's not to love about hexagons....I admit, I'm rather addicted to them and any excuse to use them I will !!!
So for this month's layout I grabbed my chance !!!
Keeping the background in plain Bazzill, I used the Sizzix Hexagon thinlits and the KaiserCraft 75 Cents Collection 'Penny'. This is where double sided card stock comes into its own....
I cut the background ones in all the same size. Note to self. when sticking down the hexagons, it's always a good idea to wear glasses !!!
I then cut the next size down and mounted these over the top of some of them with foam pads.
I added a bit of 'flickage' using the Heidi Swapp Color Shine in White, embellished my photo and adhered that to the page.
Then just added a few tiny gold sequins.
Thanks for looking
